Oh... s orry Officer. Never mind.

If you can’t tell, this is the default photo from where my phone is mounted. Also, that windshield was clean when I left the house. It’s Love Bug season in Louisiana. Never heard of Love Bugs? They got their name because they are rarely seen not mating.

When they swarm, they can really make a mess of things.

Thankfully, the season is short.

We have them here in Florida too. I have not been able to confirm this, but I have been told that they are somewhat acidic and, if you don’t wash them off, they will eat away at your paint.

As someone who develops car wash formulas, I cna confirm that love bug season is when they up the concentration of the caustic/high pH presoak in the washes to blast away these bugs. They actually go from the presoak being on just the earliest functions to going almost halfway into the wash before the system switches over to the more acidic soaps.

I was driving on I-77 from Cleveland for work last year. There’s almost 4 lanes free and there was this ratty Outback adamantly doing the speed limit in the leftmost lane. Along comes a State Trooper in a charger just like this. I hang back and watch the show. I kid you not, cop was tailgating him/her for almost 2 miles hoping they would get the message. Finally turned on the lights and NOW they wants to move over but wont speed up and there’s a van in the next lane who had to slow down to let the idiot over. Trooper carried on.

Among other things, yes.

FYI - Rainbow coat is usually just the same soap you were getting elsewhere in the wash, just with added dyes. In some places, it is just foamy dye.
